Sweet corn and fruitful partnerships

After a lovely vacation last week, I came back to the farm to find everything running smoothly and our new plantings looking great. I am so grateful to Jason for managing the farm while I was away; it was a huge weight off my shoulders to know that everything was in good hands. Thank you also to our interns and Workday Leaders for putting in work on the farm last week to keep things on track!

Sweet corn has arrived!

Jason and I jumped right into a long and busy week on Tuesday, with our Farm Box harvest running longer than usual due to so much produce coming out of the fields right now. It looks like we’re in for a sizeable sweet corn harvest this year, despite the plants being stressed and stunted, and the tomatoes are now cranking out hundreds of pounds of fruit each week. We’ve also been busy finishing our long-overdue MidAcre irrigation project, all thanks to the incredible generosity of members from UA Local 393, who came out to the farm two evenings in a row to work on it. We can’t say how much we appreciate their time, energy, and expertise in completing this project for us, and we’re excited to build this new partnership!
