You won’t even recognize the Farm Stand!

This week saw more major progress in our tomatoes, as we finished installing trellis on our second planting. Just one more morning of pruning next week should have us all caught up and ready to start harvesting off this next round, just as our first succession is coming offline. After crossing our fingers seeding carrots last week, we were delighted to see the first seeds germinating today! We’ve had a lot of trouble with carrots over the past year, so we’re hoping that we’ve got everything lined up right to get a strong crop this fall.

Baby carrots germinating thanks to judicious watering.

When you stop by the Farm Stand tomorrow, I’m sure you’ll notice that things are a little different than usual! Today Esther, Madeline, and Koko (with help from Neighborhood Harvest intern Rachelle) tackled a serious cleaning and reorganization project in the Farm Stand as the first step in a larger renovation that Esther is spearheading. I hugely appreciate all their hard work and am excited for the possibilities in this clean, rejuvenated space. Come by tomorrow and see the results for yourself! :)
