Wow, what a week! As a reminder, we write a post every week highlighting new Veil features and updates from the community. You can read past updates on our blog.

Veil launched on Ethereum’s Mainnet

The big news from the last week is that Veil (finally) launched on Mainnet. Our team has worked for months to get Veil ready for primetime, and we’re thrilled for you to start using it for real. Read the launch post including details and a breakdown of supported markets (like leveraged REP, Academy Awards, and sports). Try Veil now or sign up for an account here.

Last Friday the first markets on Veil expired, including a collection of cryptocurrency derivatives and markets tracking Ethereum’s gas price and hash rate. If you participated in those markets, go to your portfolio page in Veil to redeem your shares for ETH.

Here are two of the most popular markets available to trade now:

Explaining Augur market pricing and payouts

Prediction markets and derivatives are complicated. We received a lot of questions from users early on about how to think about pricing or trading in these new markets. So we wrote and published a guide to Augur market economics, which includes descriptions of binary and scalar markets and how to trade them on Veil. We expect this to be the first of many guides we share about Augur and Veil, so let us know if you have particular topics you’d like us to cover next.

Predict who will win Super Bowl LIII

We listed a Super Bowl market this past weekend. Go trade on either the New England Patriots or the Los Angeles Rams to triumph on February 3, 2019. Here’s the link: https://app.veil.co/market/super-bowl-liii.

Nominate an Augur market for listing on Veil

As we prepare to make more Augur markets available to trade on Veil, we’ve launched a feature that lets users nominate certain markets for listing. The goal is to give early adopters a say in what markets are available. We plan to list at least one of these nominated markets within the next week.

One exciting by-product of listing existing Augur markets is that the Augur community member(s) who created these markets will make money from shares listed on Veil. When open interest traded on Veil is ultimately returned to the Augur market at settlement, the market creator will take a fee. Nominate Augur markets for listing now.

Support and feedback

We love hearing your feedback, questions, and feature requests. Please get in touch with us on Twitter (@veil), Discord (there’s usually at least one member of the Veil team available), or email.
