🔮 Create your own Veil markets

Last week we launched our market creation feature. We’ve been excited about this feature since the beginning, and now you can create your own prediction markets on Veil! Read our post about the feature here or spin up your own market now.

One of the reasons we’re so excited about this feature is the creativity it enables. Here are a few of our favorite markets created since the feature went live last week.

✈️ Will FAA revert Boeing 737 Max 8 grounding decision before 30th March 2019?

📈 What will be the Celer token price after the 1st hour of trading at Binance?

💰 What will be stability fee for CDPs on the MakerDAO platform on Jun 11, 2019?

🍿 Will the movie Avengers Endgame gross over $275m on its opening weekend in the US?

🇺🇸 How many points will Joe Biden have in the “2020 Endorsement Primary” on April 15, 2019?

👍 React to markets

We wanted a quick and easy way to react to markets—sometimes you’re not ready to place a bet but you want to indicate support for a market in another way. So we added upvotes. Now you can react with a 👍 to any market to show your approval.

What’s the most upvoted market thus far? Will 2020 presidential candidate Andrew Yang have 250,000 or more Twitter followers on April 1, 2019?

🔍 More ways to browse markets

As the number of markets increases, we want to give you more ways to browse, filter, and sort what’s on Veil. So last week we added two things to the browse markets page:

  1. Channel filters. Show only user created markets or DeFi markets for instance.
  2. New sorting options. You can sort the markets by volume, popularity, expiration, or creation time.

📈 Scalar market support

Over the last month we’ve only allowed scalar market trading in Veil Pro. Last week we added support for scalar markets through the default UI. You’re still welcome to trade in Pro, but now the choice is yours. Here’s what a sample scalar market looks like when making a bet through Veil.

💸 New Veil ETH balance

You may notice that your Veil ETH balance changed recently. You are not allowed to create orders in excess of your current Veil ETH balance, so we now decrement your open orders from your balance. You can hover over your balance to see your total balance as well as how much is committed to open orders. Go to your orders tab and cancel orders if you’d like to free up more Veil ETH.

🌟 Best performers from last week

Congratulations to our best performers from last week: @Crypt0moon (+72.8%), @severuscuckoo (+68.1%), @free (+32%), @calchulus (+29.4%), and @jmarcafella (+21.2%)! See the full leaderboard here.
