Veil weekly updates: March 4, 2019
A weekly digest of new Veil features and updates.
Create your own Veil markets
We’ve been excited about user-created markets from the beginning, and we’re thrilled to say we’ll be launching market creation as a feature on March 13, 2019. You’ll be able to create your own market on Veil and Augur!
This feature will be a big change for the Veil community, and we’re looking for a small group of market creators to help us test the feature and create markets on launch day. If selected for the program, we’ll also give you a grant to create your first market!

Because Veil is a prediction market company, we thought it would be appropriate to let you bet on whether we will successfully launch the market creation feature on-time or not. So here’s a new market to trade in:
New crypto markets
This week we listed two new scalar markets on Binance Coin (BNB), the cryptocurrency of the Binance platform, and Maker (MKR), the token that helps to govern and stabilize the Maker ecosystem and its stablecoin, Dai. You can now take 5x leveraged long or short positions on either asset:
- What will be the price of Binance Coin (BNB) in USD at 4pm PST on Friday, March 8, 2019? Current prediction is $11.35.
- What will be the price of Maker (MKR) in USD at 4pm PST on Friday, March 8, 2019? Current prediction is $644.55.
Cosmos markets
Cosmos is building an internet of interoperable blockchains. The project has been under development since 2016 and is nearing launch! We’re very excited about Cosmos, and now Veil users can trade on two meaningful aspects of the Cosmos launch: the launch date and future value of Cosmos tokens, i.e. Atoms. Here are the new markets:
- Will the Cosmos main network launch by April 1, 2019
- What will be the market capitalization of Cosmos Atoms (ATOM) in USD on April 30, 2019?
- Will Cosmos Atoms (ATOM) be listed on CoinMarketCap by April 30, 2019?
The future market cap of Cosmos will be determined by CoinMarketCap, but Cosmos is not yet listed on CoinMarketCap. So the third market above is designed as a hedge against the risk that Cosmos is not listed on CoinMarketCap by April 30, 2019.
Filter your orders by status
A couple weeks ago, we added the orders tab for you to see all your orders in one place. This week we pushed a small change to that page to let you filter your list of orders by status (open, canceled, or filled). Try it out by visiting your own orders page.
Augur market IDs now available on market and feed pages
Veil markets all have corresponding Augur markets, and market pages and feed pages now include relevant Augur market IDs and links to Predictions.Global. We hope this will be helpful for users that trade on both Veil and Augur as well as reporters reviewing markets once they’ve expired.
