Roadmap 2022

Hi Velo Community,

We’ve experienced some big advancements at Velo Labs over the last few months: new partnerships, new listings, new hires — we are rapidly expanding our market presence, project awareness and internal capabilities.

The acquisition of Interstellar earlier this year resulted in an entirely new management team being brought in, who has reassessed our market position, capabilities, partner pipeline, and talent. Based on this strategic assessment, we have increased hiring to fill key roles such as our recently announced Chief Product Officer, we have pushed hard and signed new partnerships such as Tempo, Bitazza and Inception, and we have dived deep into our capabilities, needs and plans. And now, we are excited and ready to release our refreshed roadmap. Our core mission continues to be on improving financial services and inclusion globally, with our first use case focused on building a global, decentralized, and interoperable network that instantly allows for the transfer of value across the globe in a faster, cheaper and more transparent manner using blockchain technology.

For you, the community, whether you’re new to the project or a long time HODLer, we want to ensure there is alignment between our internal ethos and our publicly facing communications. That’s why we are increasing communications across a wide range of areas such as partnerships, executive hires, token distribution and now our development roadmap. And in the coming months you’ll see additional updates and refreshes of our core materials, such as our whitepaper, 3-pager and ultimately our website. The project mission is staying the same, we are simply making sure we are accurately and consistently relaying our plans to you.

As mentioned, to start, we are elated today to introduce you to our refreshed roadmap, packed full of advancements, upgrades and updates to Velo’s core focus on improving financial services.

From allowing Velo Anchors (banks, money transmission companies, digital wallets, etc) to leverage smart contract functionality and bring further efficiency to cross border transactions, to bringing the power of the blockchain to multilateral payment networks, to expanding on our active currency corridors, we are excited for these future releases and the strength they will bring to the growing Velo ecosystem.
