Houston Startup Digitally Connects with Brazilian Buyers

In September 2019, representatives from Velour Imports Inc. used modern technology to digitally connect with Brazilian Buyers. Digital adopters Velour Imports used their digital platform to promote Knee Deep Brewing, Mason Ale Works, Aspen Brewing Company, Church Street Brewing, and many others in the Southern United States Trade Association’s Brazil Inbound Trade Mission sponsored by SUSTA’s Market Access Program Generic.

Thanks to a digital platform, the Houston-based company was able to introduce nearly 100 different products to four new buyers, one of which they consider to be a quality lead. The company representatives anticipated hundreds of thousands in sales to develop from years of relationships made at the trade mission. This success is due to the Foreign Agricultural Service’s Market Access Program. “Craft beer is on the rise and so is accessibility through technology. We want craft beer retailers to explore the convenience and affordability through eCommerce that craft beer drinkers get at home. The on-demand culture and social media continues to drive the growth of “e-premise” in the $500 billion-dollar global craft beer market. However, only 1% of global online sales are from the US.

Special thanks to the Southern United States Trade Association for allowing us to remotely participate in the event. The pandemic has caused every industry to transition to virtual. We are proud to adopt digital technology because e-Commerce markets grow faster than established.
