Oh, Hello. We are trying out a new thing here on Medium! Bringing you more curated content from Velour, quick references to the shows you should know about, and updates from time-to-time about things relevant to your local interests.

#FixTheFox: Before we get into the juicy bits, a reminder that Corey is still on a medical leave, recovering from his kidney transplant (may he forever be known as The Man With Three Kidneys, amen). BUT we are expecting him back shortly! He is in good health and has recently hit his Three-Month post-surgery benchmark. Brandon (of The Moth & The Flame) has also recovered well after his generous gift to Corey and keeps busy working on new music (!!) with the band. More info about Corey’s return in coming weeks, but thank you from the depths of our hearts for the inquiries and well-wishes in the meantime.

Our weekly Open Mic nights provide a space for new artists to get comfortable on the stage, give local fans a chance to hear new material from local favorites, and are a great way to spend a mellow night midweek.

Solarsuit has been well-known for their high-energy, indie-pop shows since 2013, but sadly this will be their last! (although we hope all of these musicians will continue in the scene with other bands!) Listen to Solarsuit’s newest releases on Spotify to warm-up for their farewell show. Allred has been a singer-songwriter favorite in Provo for 10+ years, and his latest release is a culmination of his transitions and talent from those years. Joining Allred on this show is touring artist Luke Mitchem, of Missouri. Luke’s recent album was recorded and produced locally with Joshua James at Willamette Mountain last year, and it’s an honor to welcome him back to Utah during this tour.

Featuring special guest, Cherish Degraaf.

Two nights with Joshua James, celebrating the release of his newest album, “My Spirit Sister.” Join us for one evening, or both. Although here at home in Utah we are accustomed to the critical acclaim for Joshua and his band from every level in the national industry, the latest notable attention he’s receiving include a Rolling Stone Top Ten list, an incredible review in American Songwriter Magazine, and a number of other highly-speaking reviews.

Fictionist hasn’t been sleeping on their newest release: in fact, the long-awaited “Sleep Machine” is due out in May! Fictionist continues to bring us something fresher and brighter, showing their diversity as artists and makers — this release will be no exception. And as one of Provo’s longest-running bands, we couldn’t contain a release party to just one evening.
