Malaysia trip Day 2:KLと恋に落ちました!

Hello, this is Minh again!
So recently I’ve been on a trip to Kuala Lumpur together with my colleague Akiharu-san.
He was kind enough to share his impression in a separate post so please have a look as well. https://medium.com/veltra-engineering/akiharu-businesstrip1-2ee77e5a057e
It’s been a while since I’ve been back to Japan, but not until now could I have the leisure writing down my feelings and thoughts! So sorry for the delay!!
Anyway first let me give some background on what I was supposed to accomplish during this trip.
Mission
- Join the kick-off meeting in KL office, so as to understand our mutual goal
- Experience doing my usual work while having direct face-to-face communication with everyone in KL
- Deepen our understanding of each other, help to build up the vital element of trust
With that in mind, I was pleasantly surprised and really grateful to our staffs in KL, as they were so kind to guide us around and take us to some of the iconic places in Malaysia.
So let’s take a peek at a corner of this city, a place where it feels almost nostalgic to me.
The place:屋台 — Ming Tien Food Court

Seeing this photo above, perhaps you could have guessed what I thought when I’ve first arrived here. Yes, somehow this place feels so much like Vietnam my hometown, but with more cars!!
And when I peeked at the inside area, there was a much familiar sight to me.

Here, people are supposed to order their meals at the standing stalls, then wait for the staffs to bring them to their tables, which they had to secure beforehand.
Sure there is no place like this in Tokyo, and from what I’ve heard, this atmosphere could not be found anywhere else in Kuala Lumpur itself as well!
The Food:Malaysian, Chinese, Hongkong, Indonesian, … Asian style, you name it

You can get quite a variety of Asian food here, from Malaysian cari, Chinese noodles, to Indonesian chiken satay, Thai Tom Yum, and to my surprise there was even Vietnamese Pho!!
Thanks to the diversity in Malaysian population, each of their people bring together with them the essence of their culture, some of which was reflected in their food.
Also, all of these came with a very decent price, which makes you want to appreciate every bit of time spending there.
Day 2 and more
Day 2 gave me really nice memories trying food stalls in Kuala Lumpur. There was much for me to learn from seeing so different cultures coming together, sometimes mixing with each other, sometimes building up on their own, yet at no time losing their origins.
And that concludes my second day. For the third day and more, Akiharu-san will be giving his impressions on them so please look forward to that!
For a glimpse of how that day would come out, let’s take a look...
