Crypto Project Spotlight: Highstreet, Injective, and Coin98

‘Crypto Winter’ or not, builders always be building. The web3 space has a ton of great projects being built right now - spanning across DeFi, the metaverse, NFT’s and GameFi — & the team here at Velvet.Capital thinks some shoutouts are in order!

Highstreet: HIGH (Metaverse)

Highstreet is a ‘Commerce Centered Metaverse’ focused on building the future of shopping inside a video game.

Brands from luxury fashion, streetwear, or NFTs all contribute to the lore of Highstreet World, while department stores like Saks and Harvey Nichols become portals in the real world into the virtual world.

Highstreet’s in-game retail strategy builds a gaming layer on top of already existing e-commerce infrastructure like Shopify to elevate millions of merchants from ‘physical to phygital’. Their retail pilots are already popping up around the world all leading up to the launch of Highstreet Campus and the unveiling of Highstreet City.

Partnerships:

Traditional Department Stores: Users who bought items from department stores will find a QR code to be scanned for them to enter into the Highstreet Metaverse with the item they bought seamlessly

Shopify: Highstreet has an integration with Shopify to allow users who have bought items in the digital world to redeem them in real life.

Commercial: In the Highstreet virtual world, there are commercial areas. These areas can be found in most regions like Binance Beach and AVAX Alps.

In the game, you are rewarded as you play, hence the ‘Play-to-Earn’ moniker. Players can expand their base of operations in the game by buying virtual homes via their IHO (Initial Home Offerings) or on the native marketplace. With a home in the Highstreet world, players can unlock many benefits and rewards. With Highstreet tokens players can buy physical items, go to events, progress in the game, as well as benefit financially.

Tokenomics:

Highstreet currently has a market cap of $37 million and has 24.8% (24.8 million circulation, 100 million total) of its total supply in circulation. It’s currently trading at $1.53 and during the last bull run hit around $37.

Over the past year, Highstreet is down 91% compared to the overall market being down 63%.

Injective: INJ (DeFi)

Injective is an interoperable smart contract layer-one blockchain network optimized for DeFi Applications.

With Injective, users can access, create, or trade-in any crypto market in a decentralized way. Injective has lightning-fast transactions (10,000+ TPS), no gas fees, and is built using Cosmos SDK to achieve instant finality (blocks processed in under 2 seconds).

Injective is optimized for DeFi because of its out-of-the-box financial primitives, like its fully decentralized order book. DApps can leverage the underlying decentralized infrastructure to build exchanges, futures markets, and many other on-chain financial applications.

INJ is the Injective native governance and utility token. The token gives holders governance rights, exchange value capture, liquidity mining, and staking. One thing to note is every two weeks, the protocol burns 60% of the transaction fees to lower supply. Through the Injective, the current staking reward is 12%.

Tokenomics of INJ:

Currently, INJ has a market cap of $144 million and has 73% (73 Million Circulation, 100 Million Supply) of its total supply in circulation. The token is currently trading at $2.06 and is down 91% off its all-time high.

Over the past year, Injective is down 83% compared to the market being down 63%.

Coin98: C98 (DeFi)

Coin98 is a cross-chain DeFi Protocol launched by Binance Launchpad in 2021. In short, what Coin98 does is use and provide liquidity from decentralized exchanges, to offer user yield farming, lending, and borrowing.

Coin98 has three main features: Coin98 Wallet, Coin98 Exchange, and Space Gate.

The Coin98 wallet gives users the ability to send, store, receive, manage assets, and connect to dApps.

The Coin98 Exchange allows its users to swap, stake, lend, borrow, and earn crypto.

Space Gate is for token swaps and transfers between ERC-20 tokens and BEP-20 tokens.

C98 is the native token utility token of the Coin98 platform. The coin is used to facilitate transactions on the protocol. It is on the Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum Blockchain, and Solana Blockchain.

Tokenomics of C98:

C98 has a total supply of 1 Billion tokens. The current circulating supply of C98 tokens is 216 Million and the market cap is about $72 Million at the time of writing (10/18/2022). C98’s token price is currently $0.3326 and its all-time high was $6.40 in August of 2021. The last 24-hour trade volume of C98 has been about $12 Million.

Coin98 is down 95% off its all-time high 14 months ago. Over the last year, C98 is down 90% compared to the market being down 63%.
