This week roundup is mostly about us. We have some free concerts coming, got some awards, had awesome guests and finished another round of Velvet Academy.
Golden Eggs 2018
On 16th of March the Estonian creative community celebrated twentieth anniversary of Golden Egg award with a gala where we took home two prizes. We were honoured to receive a Silver medal for Solaris Keskus and as a part of a larger team who helped to create Tallinn Digital Summit we took home the Gold as well. We had another 7 awesome works shortlisted. Big thanks and 👊to Balti Jaama Turg, Restaurant KUU, Denim Dream, Bole, Skyon, CUBA Films & Estonian Production Service and SEB Eesti projects.
Fourth Velvet Academy graduation
Janno Siimar and Amid Moradganjeh finished another Velvet Academy — ‘Design for non-designers’ course.
In four weeks they looked at how to solve big, small, and wicked problems with design thinking. May the fourth be with you 🙏
Guests from Dalton Maag
In the middle of March, we had a pleasure to meet up with Eleni Beveratou and Bruno Maag from renowned type design studio Dalton Maag whose clients include Rio 2016, Google, Amazon, Intel, and Nokia. We had an interesting conversation about their work and how they manage their workflows. Some of us also attended their two-day workshop (thanks to Estonian Design Centre for organizing it) “Choosing a Typeface”.

Velvet was named as the most awarded creative agency in Estonia based on the awards received in 2017.

Free concerts at our place in April 🎺🎤🎻🎸🥁
The second year in a row April is full of great music for us. We host two incredible music festivals at our humble office. First up is Tallinn Music Week on Saturday April 7th where we have a great variety of artists for you. Second up we have Jazzkaar on Sunday April 22nd with Marie Vaigla and The Swingin’ Sisters.
All the concerts are free for everybody so take a friend with you and come hang out with us.
