Today in Wild West History, Vol 3: Christmas in the West
The Wild West may not be the first place that comes to mind when thinking about Christmas traditions, but the holiday has a rich and varied history in the region.
During the early days of the Wild West, Christmas was not widely celebrated by settlers and pioneers. These early westerners were often too busy trying to survive in a harsh and unfamiliar landscape to worry about holiday celebrations.
