In a digital landscape becoming increasingly saturated with misinformation, fake news, and fakes, ensuring the authenticity of the content and its creators is more crucial than ever. Content authority is a growing concern as it becomes increasingly challenging to verify the source of information and the real identity of users behind online interactions.

Our innovative identification process, uID, aims to tackle these challenges head-on by providing each user with a unique, private, verifiable identifier. When our members securely connect their data to their uID, it helps ensure what we see online comes from real people by creating a source of truth in today’s digital world.

Current Issues with Content Authority

  1. Fake Accounts and Bots: Social media platforms and online communities are plagued with fake accounts and bots that can manipulate public opinion, spread false information, and undermine the credibility of authentic users. Applications requiring Vendible uID accounts for authentication automatically block bots.
  2. Multiple Accounts: Users can create multiple accounts, which can be exploited for various nefarious activities, including spamming, manipulating online polls, and evading bans or restrictions. Having Vendible uID accounts requirements for authentication blocks these malicious accounts, as a real user can only create one account.
  3. Deepfakes: Advances in AI have created highly realistic but fake images, videos, and audio that can be difficult to distinguish from genuine content. These fakes can be used to spread disinformation or to damage reputations. The spread of false information and propaganda is rampant, with significant consequences for public discourse and decision-making. Developers who integrate uID can ensure that content is human-generated and those posting information are held accountable for their actions — even if they are anonymous.
  4. AI generated content. Many content creators who have spent years becoming authorities in their respective spaces now fear AI will steamroll them as it can almost instantly generate content for any given topic. However, real content creators are essential to continuing our discourse and ensuring we constantly seek the truth rather than churning out text. Vendible will roll out a method to embed uID into actual data files so that anyone can verify that content has come from a verified person. The creator can either disclose their personal information or remain anonymous, but either way, we will provide clear paths to confirm authority in content.
