Talking about the book collection, Erasmus Huis library has more than 15.000 collections of books, newspapers, and magazines both from Indonesia and The Netherlands. Here, visitors can find various types of literature, kids books, any kind of books related to Indonesian and Dutch art and culture. If you look around, this library is dominated with collection of books in Dutch which can help you to get to know about Dutch better.

Elegant Interior Design

This library comes with a typical modern Dutch style with a space dominated with white. You can see numbers of furniture with various designs that present elegant yet effortless style in this library. With the bookshelves up to the ceiling, there is also a small stair to make it easier for visitors to browse the collections. The size of this library is quite extensive. Applying the concept of open space, not only as a reading room, this library can also switch functions as a multi-purpose room for you to work, meet, discuss, or do your homework.

Membership

You can read books for free in this library, but if you want to borrow books here then you need to make a membership. Borrowing books from Erasmus Huis library is free when you’re a member.

  1. Indonesian members: Annual membership is Rp 30.000, members can borrow up to 3 books at a time with a maximum lending period of 3 weeks. If you want to borrow a maximum 5 books at a time, the annual membership fee is Rp 60.000.
  2. Indonesia students: Annual membership is Rp 15.000, members can borrow up to 3 books at a time with a maximum lending period of 3 weeks. If you want to borrow a maximum 5 books at a time, the annual membership fee is Rp 30.000.
  3. Foreigners: Annual membership is Rp 60.000, members can borrow up to 3 books at a time with a maximum lending period of 3 weeks. If you want to borrow a maximum 5 books at a time, the annual membership fee is Rp 120.000.
  4. Foreign students: Annual membership is Rp 40.000, members can borrow up to 3 books at a time with a maximum lending period of 3 weeks. If you want to borrow a maximum 5 books at a time, the annual membership fee is Rp 80.000.

Operating Hours

Erasmus Huis operating hours:

  • Monday — Thursday: 9 AM — 4 PM
  • Friday: 9 AM — 2 PM
  • Saturday: 10 AM — 1 PM
  • Sunday & Public holidays: Closed

Due to COVID-19 situation, Erasmus Huis library will be closed until further notice. However, this library can be your go-to place once the situation gets better and to spend some healing time here with various of books that you love.
