Musicians will get to learn to use blockchain technologies in their favor

Mastercard is shaking up the music world with its new Web3 accelerator program. This cutting-edge initiative, in partnership with the Polygon network, provides musicians with an advanced platform to drive their creative ambitions and further progress the industry.

According to the official press release, the Mastercard Artist Accelerator is focused on helping emerging underrepresented musical artists use Web3 to unleash their power and potential.

The program’s announcement was made last Friday, January 6th, through Polygon’s Twitter account.

Any musician who wants a spot can apply through Mastercard’s Web3 Artist Accelerator official website. The program is expected to start in the spring of 2023.

Where music meets Web3

Much is said about how the music world can benefit from blockchain technology. But the truth is that most artists are still far from understanding exactly how to use Web3 and digital assets to their advantage.

In Mastercard’s Artist Accelerator Program, musical artists will get to dive deep into educational materials about this complex and exciting industry.

Amongst the interesting curriculum, participants will learn from mentors’ skills to build a fanbase, seek collaborations, and even mint their own NFTs.

No prior experience in Web3 is needed — just an ambitious attitude ready for success!

In order to access the platform on Polygon and the entire program, participants will hold a limited-time NFT, the Mastercard Music Pass.

This is not the first time that the giant payment-processing corporation Mastercard has announced an investment in the Web3 space and shown support for innovation. This demonstrates their confidence that blockchain technology can lead us into an exciting new era of digital possibilities.

The music NFT era?

Mastercard supporting artists onboarding the future of tech remains a very optimistic sign for the entire Web3 community.

Just as visual artists have rocked with NFTs in the past few years, we’re seeing room for the same success unfolding in 2023 in the music industry.

This initiative will likely positively impact the education of the general audience on everything NFTs. It’s a step towards the mass adoption of decentralized ownership concepts and a promising opportunity for emerging musical artists everywhere.
