We at Venture23 collaborated with Web3 Alliance Nepal to conduct a blockchain event at South Western State College, at Bashundhara, Kathmandu.

The event started with a short presentation about blockchain, its use cases, and how different parts of our lives are being influenced by this technology on a day-to-day basis. Then, we had the privilege to illuminate the participants on the concept of zero knowledge and the potential of the ALEO blockchain.

The participants were mostly undergrad students, who have recently started exploring blockchain. They were interested in zero knowledge and were quite intrigued by the endless possibilities zero knowledge brings. We dived into the use cases of zero knowledge, both on blockchain and off-chain applications.

After that, we introduced the Aleo blockchain to the participants as a unique chain that aims to solve the privacy and security problems of other chains. We touched upon the architecture of Aleo, and how snarkOS and snarkVM come into play. We also talked about how the Leo language has abstracted all the convoluted mathematics, and circuits that are necessary under the hood to make building apps in the ALEO ecosystem really easy and intuitive. We added how Aleo solves the fundamental problem of blockchain i.e. combining monetization and programmability with privacy in the blockchain which existed until Aleo. Protocols like Bitcoin have the monetization solved but are not programmable, Ethereum solves the issue of programmability but lacks privacy but ALEO has it all figured out.

We also talked about different developer onboarding programs that ALEO is doing like developer grants, bug bounty incentives, and so on. We educated the participants about the endless possibilities of building with ALEO.

There were many participants who were new to Zero Knowledge and ALEO blockchain. The participants’ feedback was really good and they seemed to benefit from our introductory presentation on Zero knowledge and ALEO. Many participants seemed interested in trying out building in ALEO on their own. At the end of the program, we had a small networking session where participants from different fields of knowledge came together to exchange ideas. We discussed how zero-knowledge could be used to validate the training data for different LLMs, and anonymize the medical information of patients to develop sophisticated AI models to detect different diseases from the X-ray and MRI imaging.

The event overall was really informative and the participants’ response was really good. We are also planning on organizing a hands-on session about the Leo language and how different systems can be built on ALEO. We are fairly confident that this would be a really good idea and we are also confident of a very good participation from the ZK and Aleo enthusiasts.
