In a podcast earlier this week, Apple executives released new information stating that an upcoming update to the Apple TV iPhone remote app will bring new functionality that will enable the iPhone to double as a full functioning Apple TV remote. Lots of Apple TV users hae been complaining that it gets lost easily, that it’s small, and it doesn’t work well with games. This is all about to be put to rest.

The new update is expected to bring Siri voice recognition, as well as the option to use your iPhone as a game remote (yes!) so you don’t have to buy another remote. There is no confirmed release date, but the update is expected to be released “in a couple of months”.
