With the Ultimate Warrior Showdown (UWS) Korea Championship 2021

Gaming enthusiasts in Korea are in for an amazing experience as VeraEsports presents the Ultimate Warrior Showdown (UWS) Korea Championship 2021.

Korea’s gaming industry is one of the largest gaming industries in the world — ranking fourth behind the United States, China, and Japan. Korean gamers have also built a fearsome reputation in dominating the esports scene across a variety of games and nurturing a vibrant gaming culture.

All roads lead to Korea and VeraEsports’s UWS: Korea Championship 2021 is an exclusive booster tournament designed to introduce VeraEsports to the Korean market. The UWS Korea Championship 2021 is the first of its kind in terms of tournament format and campaign structure. The tournament, amongst other things, will enable interaction within the Korean esports community, influencers, and the professional teams in the country. It also goes beyond gaming, with VeraEsports matching the $40,000 prize pool as a donation to the winner’s charity of choice.

Now to the fun part: Open Qualifiers and Influencer Qualifiers

VeraEsports’s UWS: Korea Championship 2021 will start out with 16 teams chosen from two competitive formats, namely an Open Qualifiers round and an Influencer Qualifiers round. It promises to be exciting, exhilarating, adrenaline-filled, and fun from the get-go.

Open Qualifiers

The Open Qualifiers round, which runs through November 17–18 will start with Qualifier 1 involving 64 teams. The teams will be grouped into 4 groups of 16 teams. The teams in each of the four groups will play against one another for 3 maps. The teams will be scored based on their performance in their group and the top 16 teams from Qualifier 1 will proceed to the Qualifier Finals.

Qualifier Finals

The top 16 teams from the Qualifier 1 rounds will proceed to compete in the Qualifier Finals across 8 maps in 2 match days. Each team will consist of 4 players and 1 substitute. The top 8 teams from the Qualifier Finals will proceed to compete in the Grand Finals.

Influencer Qualifiers

Influencer Qualifiers round runs through November 27 -28 and it starts with 16 invited influencers from the Korean gaming community. Each of the 16 Influencer teams is made up of 1 influencer and 3 fans.

In the days leading up to the tournament, each influencer will host a mini-contest on their page to choose 3 fans that will join them in the tournament. Make sure to stay glued to your favorite gaming influencers in Korea, perhaps you’ll get a chance to join a team and participate in this first-of-its-kind UWS Korea Championship 2021

A total of 16 invited influencers and their 48 fans will compete in 8 maps across 2 match days. The games will be live-streamed and the top 8 influencer teams will emerge to compete in the Grand Finals.

The Grand Finals

And now for the grand slam! The top 8 teams from the Open Qualifiers and the Influencer Qualifiers will form our final top 16 teams going to battle it out in the Grand Finals… Is that a war chant we hear? The top 16 teams that make it to the Grand Finals, will be competing for a total prize pool of USD $40,000 or its Korean won equivalent.

The Grand Finals of the Ultimate Warrior Showdown is on December 4–5, but be rest assured that we will have some more juicy information about how the qualifiers progressed and what more to expect from Grand Finals as the tournament progresses.

Gaming for Good

Gaming can go beyond just fun to do good. VeraEsports is working with the local gaming and esports community to ensure a healthy and mature community and the UWS: Korea Championship 2021 is a long stride in the right direction.

To put words into action, VeraEsports will be matching the total prize money with a donation of USD40,00 to the charity of choice of the winning teams. Beyond the main USD40,000 charity donation, the other charities highlighted in the tournament will receive smaller donations as a token of appreciation for their partnership with VeraEsports’s UWS: Korea Championship 2021.
