I get it. You must be thinking. Graphics artists are expensive. Every book is judged by it’s cover. We’re sure several times already. It remains to be the top reason why a lot of ebook(s) fail to generate the kind of sales they deserve.

A good cover proves to be the single most important factor in getting the initial interest and making readers want to look into your ebook. So do not ignore this fact and get a interesting and good looking cover page for your ebook.

Hype the book before upload

A book promotion train is surprisingly easy to get together. You start by dropping hints that you’re working on a book. Whenever you write something for your blog or another public field, go into how you’re adding more about that topic in your book, if you are. Obviously, don’t just say that about anything even though it’s not in the book.

As the time for publication nears, start building more hype for the book. Send review copies to influencers and ask for their opinions. Promote quotes about it when they’re beneficial. Buy ads to promote a landing page for pre-orders.

Provide a nice quick preview of your ebook content

A preview of your ebook pages helps in engaging your prospective buyers / readers to your ebook and increasing your chances. There are several ways to create a quick preview.

Get Legitimate Reviews.

One of the best things you can get are positive reviews. Reviews help others decide when they want to read your book. A bad review can tell people your book isn’t innovative, isn’t interesting, or doesn’t bring in value. That kills sales. Worse, you can’t do anything about a negative review aside from try to bury it under positive reviews.

The best technique is to pick a handful of influencers and send them copies before the book is officially published. Ask them if they’re interested, and as part of the deal, get them to write reviews for the Digital Paper page when the book goes live. This gets you a good start from potent influencers.

Book Rating — Good or Bad

What you should definitely not do is buy reviews. Most users can tell when a review is purchased, because there are often disconnects between the review and reality. Some are way more enthusiastic than the tone of the book, some say things like “when I read this last month” when the book was published a day ago, and other such mistakes. You don’t want people to be skeptical about the veracity of your reviews, because then they won’t trust any of them, even the legitimate ones.

You can do one thing more, offer free book to those reader who will write the best comment. That’s also a best way to get some positive reviews.

Consider a Free Launch

Free Launch

They say there’s no such thing as a free launch, right? Or was that lunch? Anyways. One technique a lot of authors use, particularly authors that haven’t published a book before, is to offer it for free for the first 12 or 24 hours after publication. Promote the book with this in mind, telling people it will be free for a limited time. This will drum up sales and rentals right away, get you a decent number of reviews, and will give your audience a push to get it early. Those who wait to see reviews will have a more informed decision, but will have to pay when the time comes.

Once you’ve published a number of books, you can put one of the early ones into permafree status. Set the price to zero and use it as an introductory offer to hook people on your writing. Make sure this book is a good representation of what you bring to the library, and people will want to read more by you.

Use the power of Social media

These days, being social is the lifeblood of a good marketing campaign, regardless of what you’re marketing.

Social media marketing has become a very popular tool to promote about everything. Site like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and various blogs allow users to “repost” or share information shared on the product in question easily.

Since the same information is shared by a user with their contacts and by contacts of their contact, it helps in spreading the word fast this reaching more and more people . Social networking sites act as word of mouth promotion adding more value.

Offer limited period discounts, create bundles.

Just like any ecommerce product an ebook can be offered on limited period discounts or bundled with relevant products to increase the overall value or worth of the deal to the user. This is proven method tested over time to fetch results.

Track Everything and Repeat

Most of these methods have some way to track information about how well they’re doing. You can track conversions from different locations, you can track how much reviews and quotes from influencers help, and generally monitor the success of your book. All of this information is useful for the next one and the two main steps that you have to consider most is to Create Author Platform and Price your eBook.

Create Author Brand

Power of Acknowledgement

Digital Paper — Acknowledgement

I talk about the power of leveraging the Acknowledgments page in your book. There is an decline in the amount of gratitude over the past several years and how the acknowledgments pages have actually been shrinking or don’t even exist in many of the newer books that are being published and self published.

By including people’s names and even short descriptions of how they have helped you, inspired you and coached you in life will not only honor those who have helped you along your path but can actually boost book sales.

Everyone likes to see their name in the published book. Right? This is a great way to get others talking good about you.

Price your ebook intelligently.

Since production and distribution costs involved in case of an ebook are substantially less as compared to their printed version you should price your ebook cost considering all these factors. Lower cost in case of an ebook is the major driving force behind the increasing ebook sales trends that we all have been witnessing in the last few years. So do you research well before deciding upon the cost for your ebook.
