For the sake of argument, let’s define success as the moment you worry more about paying taxes than the creative work itself. If you can’t pay your taxes then you definitely can’t pay even more essential expenses. Your hobby business is basically just a hobby. A real business makes money and pays its taxes.

Now then let’s add to our argument the apparent fact that it’s cheaper to work from home. Easier. More convenient. Cleverly, avoiding the “extra” expense of carrying rent or other bills related to maintaining a cool room elsewhere. No extra insurance. No business license. No personal meetings. No coffee. No presentations at the front of the room. No risk.

You won’t have to deal with parking or listening to colleagues talk about their weekends. Don’t worry about inconvenient invites to the club house for a quick 9. You can catch up later online. But you’re in your creative space… 24/7. No more unexpected interruptions. Your flow 100% of the time.

Instead of a cool room, you’re the coolest thing in the place. You basically don’t need a fan in your server because you keep the machine from over heating just by sitting near it. And you’re always near it. You can reach your…
