Berlin, Germany — June 5, 2023 — Today marks a pivotal moment in our continuous journey towards mass adoption.

In the footsteps of Steve Jobs, who eloquently defined innovation as the essence of leadership, we are delighted to announce that Verge Currency, an open-source, community-driven digital currency, is now compliant with ISO 20022. As the 9th cryptocurrency to offer this standardised option and the first decentralised community-run IoT currency, we continue to blaze the trail in the digital currency landscape, carving out a roadmap to mass adoption.

The strength of our community and our unyielding commitment to decentralisation is showcased by the previous crowdfunded effort to ensure Verge’s compliance with the SEC’s Howey Test.

As Verge has been verified not to be a security, the logical continuation was achieving compliance with ISO 20022, a significant milestone, delivered by our partner Voice Life and implemented by the firm BlockDudes. This endeavour has cleared the way for Voice Life to facilitate passive income distribution to their F-NFT holders using the XVG coin.

Verge’s commitment to user-centricity aligns with the ISO 20022 standard, bridging the gap between traditional finance and cryptocurrencies. The optional standardised messaging format allows Verge to integrate within financial institutions alongside fiat currencies seamlessly; while giving users the flexibility to choose between the ISO standard and the traditional Verge functions. Simultaneously, we uphold the fundamental principles of a public ledger currency as envisioned by Bitcoin’s founder, Satoshi Nakamoto, and maintain our commitment to choice for our various security features.

ISO 20022 might not have been conceived with cryptocurrencies in mind, but its integration with Verge underscores our resolve to lead the charge, integrating digital currencies into the broader financial landscape.

Today’s announcement is not simply an update; it signifies a landmark in our ongoing voyage towards the future of digital currencies. With Verge Currency’s ISO 20022 compliance, we aren’t just thinking differently — we are shaping a new narrative for digital currencies in the global financial landscape.

Join us as we embark on this bold journey towards an integrated, transparent, and universally accessible future for digital currency.
