Devconnect is one the biggest blockchain meetups in the world; it is a week-long gathering of independent Ethereum events to learn, share, and make progress together. This year, it was held in Istanbul and our team headed to Turkey for some baklava and inspiring conversations with like-minded builders.

A festival of events

There were multiple events happening around Istanbul during the week, all with the same goal: furthering the blockchain ecosystem, growing our projects and bringing adoption to the world of Web3.

The topics range was large enough to offer something for everyone; there were events dedicated to zero knowledge; infrastructure; staking; account abstraction; crypto wallets; DeFi; blockchain economics; programming languages; blockchain security; and much more.

A few hackathons were happening during the week to act as starting ground for multiple exciting blockchain projects.

There was also a cozy co-working space to host all attendees who needed to get some work done, grab some dondurma ice-cream and network with other people.

Team Veridise took the stage

We started the week strong with a talk by our colleague Alp Bassa at the Turkish Zero-Knowledge Community Summit by Cryptİst.

Alp then sat on a panel on ZK Security and formal verification at the Nethermind Summit, and spoke about automated bug detection in ZK circuits at the TrustX conference by Secureum.

Our co-founder Yanju Chen had a busy agenda too: he sat on a panel at zkDay Istanbul, lead a workshop and discussed privacy-first scaling systems on a panel at Aleo’s ZK House, and delivered a presentation at the PROGCRYPTO conference where he talked about the ZKSwift programming language.

Andreea Buterchi, VP of Engineering at Veridise, had talks at the TrustX conference, ZK Accelerate and Avalanche House, and lead multiple workshops on automated vulnerability detection.

Our marketing manager Vanina Ivanova was a speaker at DeFi boat, where she talked about making DeFi protocols secure.

Amber Huang from our business development team moderated a panel on the rollup ecosystem at the RaaS event by Lumoz.

At the end of the week, all of the Veridise representatives who travelled to Istanbul got together to celebrate with a well-deserved traditional Turkish dinner.

A successful Devconnect in the books

Overall, the team had a very busy week — as leaders in blockchain and crypto security, our team members are sought-after speakers. We delivered more than 12 talks, workshops and keynotes in total!

We attended multiple events, listened to amazing talks from industry leaders, and met with partners from all over the world.

But most importantly, we came back super inspired to keep up the amazing work we’ve been doing and make the blockchain ecosystem even more secure.
