Verifeye Media is now live streaming
Today Verifeye Media is launching our new live streaming training programme for contributors. We will also be commissioning stories from contributors who complete the training. Our aim is simple; to build a core group of Verifeye Media contributors who we can commission on behalf of our clients to go out and live stream stories, whether they are breaking news events or evergreen features.
Since live streaming burst into the news in early 2015 we have been watching closely as the technology has improved and spread. We have also watched as the public’s appetite for live news has grown.
We believe that live streaming is going to be a huge part of the future of news. More than that, we believe that nobody has yet come even close to scratching the surface of what is possible in newsgathering using live streaming.
We are also seeing publishers and broadcasters delving into live streaming, but with wildly varying results. It is clear that despite a veritable plethora of live broadcasts, there is currently a dearth of genuinely engaging news content to view. This combination of a voracious audience and a lack of high quality content presents a huge opportunity for freelance journalists with the right skills.
So, what are the right skills?
For several months we have been asking this question. We have conducted long hours of testing (including chasing butterflies), and gathered feedback from creators, clients, and viewers. We have honed our learnings and have developed a methodology for live streaming, and we are finally ready to start teaching this process to our contributors.
We are now inviting all Verifeye Media contributors to apply to our free live streaming training course. If you are not a registered contributor, you can sign up here.
We look forward to working with all of you.
