Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks
NBA: Thursday, April 26, 8:00 PM EST
Odds: Bucks -4.5, 200
The Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks meet up for Game 6 of this first-round playoff series. The Celtics lead this series 3–2 as the series shifts from Boston to Milwaukee tonight. The Bucks are favored by -4.5 at home and they can force a Game 7 in Boston with a win tonight. The home team has won each game in this playoff series.
Boston has overcome countless hurdles this season with injuries to their star players. No one expected the Celtics have so much success without Gordon Hayward in the regular season and few expected the Celtics to make a push in the playoffs without Kyrie Erving. A win tonight for the Celtics will advance them to a second-round matchup vs the Sixers but they must first beat Bucks on the road. The Celtics welcomed back Marcus Smart in Game 5 who was out since March 11 with a thumb injury. Smart added an instant dose of defense and toughness that Boston lacked while allowing an average of 110 points in losing games 3 and 4.
Milwaukee small forward Khris Middleton often gets overlooked by star teammate Giannis Antetokounmpo but both players are averaging 25 points per game in this playoff series. Middleton has become an integral part of this offense, along with Jabari Parker and Eric Bledsoe. It’s extremely important for Antetokounmpo to get his teammates involved and become a playmaker when the lane gets crowded.
The home team has controlled this series but oddsmakers may be giving a little too much respect to Milwaukee here. The Celtics are 36–16 ATS in their last 52 road games and 20–8 ATS in their last 28 games overall. The Bucks are 15–32–4 ATS in their last 51 home games and just 35–47–5 ATS on the season. The Celtics are 7–1 ATS in the last 8 meetings and 8–2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Milwaukee. I expect a close game tonight and while I see Milwaukee pushing a Game 7, the Celtics will keep this within -4.5 points to cover the spread.
