Edinson Volquez has won just a single game in his past 5 starts and is pitching tonight to avoid a 3 game losing streak. Volquez was a key component to the Royals run last season but he has not pitched well this season. The Kansas City lineup hasn’t quite been as powerful as some had hoped at the beginning of the year. Eric Hosmer is out from on 73 hits with 32 runs, 12 homers and 38 RBI. Lorenzo Cain has 66 hits with 30 runs and 34 RBI. Alcides Escobar is also playing fairly well with 65 hits, 21 runs and 16 RBI.
