Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks Free Thursday Night Football Pick, 10–3–2019
Los Angeles Rams (3–1) vs. Seattle Seahawks (3–1)
NFL Odds: Seahawks -1.5, O/U 49.5
Time: 8:20 PM EST
Date: Thursday, October 3, 2019
Thursday night football from CenturyLink Field in Seattle as the Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams in an NFC West matchup of (3–1) teams. The Rams enter Week 5 after a blowout loss to the Buccaneers at home on Sunday, 55–40. The Seahawks won on the road in Arizona, 27–10.
After losing at home in Week 4, the Rams enter Thursday Night Football as +1.5 point road dog and they are just 3–9 ATS the last 12 meetings in Seattle. The Rams 2–0 SU last season vs. the Seahawks but they were 0–2 ATS. Jared Goff set a career-high with 517 yards passing on Sunday, but his two scoring passes were offset by three-interceptions. Goff will need to clean up the turnovers when facing the 8th ranked Seahawks defense.
Seattle bounced back from a Week 3 loss to the Saints with a road win over the Cardinals last Sunday. The Seahawks (2–2 ATS) are 7–0–2 ATS the last 9 Thursday games and 8–3–1 ATS in their last 12 vs. NFC. The Seahawks were very good on the defensive side of the ball against the Cardinals, holding them to 10 points while forcing a crucial turnover. Seattle has stopped the rush this season, averaging 79.5 rushing yards per game while allowing 22.2 points per game. This defense will have their hands full facing a Rams offense that averages 29 PPG, 298 passing yards per game and 398 total yards per game.
The Rams are anything but predictable entering this Week 5 matchup. Will we get the Rams that beat the Panthers and Browns on the road or the Rams that lost at home to the Buccaneers? Seatle’s defense and 12th man/crowd will be the edge in this game but they will need to force Jared Goff to make turnovers. The Rams offense is explosive but their defense has trouble stopping the run and pass which is concerning. However, despite the quick turn around I don’t see the Rams dropping two straight. This offense is explosive and if Jared Goff can limit the mistakes the Rams will win this game SU. Los Angeles is 3–1 SU the last 4 meetings and they add to that number on Thursday night.
