Just when you think Mark Dantonio is on the path to one of the best coaching performances of his career, taking his team on the road to beat Notre Dame, the Spartans run into a buzz saw. Michigan State was overpowered and over matched with Wisconsin losing to the Badgers at home, 30–6. It’s a new week and the good news for MSU is they have not lost back-to-back games since November of 2012.

While most of the betting public may be focused more the Louisville vs Clemson matchup, I see a key opportunity in tonight’s matchup between Michigan State (-7) vs Indiana. Louisville vs Clemson is arguably a must watch matchup but let’s take a look at why Michigan State is primed for a bounce back win and cover vs the Hoosiers.

Indiana (2–1 SU) has impressed many people so far this season and they came in as significant favorite’s last week at home against Wake Forest. However, the Hoosiers came up short losing to the Demon Deacons by a final of 28–33. Indiana has leaned on their passing game too many times and QB Richard Lagow was forced to make bad decisions and throw into traffic too often. Lagow has now thrown for 1,002 yards and seven scores on the season but he has also thrown 5 interceptions.

Last week, the Hoosiers rushed for only 115 yards and they haven’t really been able to get the ground game established. This should be the perfect opportunity for the ferocious defensive line of Michigan State to put a lot of pressure on Logan and force him to get the ball out quick or make mistakes.

Mark Dantonio will have his QB ready for Indiana and you can be guaranteed he will not have 4 turnovers in this game. These teams have been meeting on the gridiron since 1922, with Michigan State holding a 45–15 edge in the series. The Spartans have not lost to Indiana since 2005 and have won seven straight, including last season’s 52–26 victory in East Lansing. Sparty has outscored Indiana 150–71 in the last three meetings and my money is backing Michigan State, laying the -7 points. This is a chance for the Spartans to get back on track and improve to (1–1) in the Big 10.
