Tonight, we set our sights on a matchup out West with the San Francisco Giants hosting the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers enter this game 2.0 games behind the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central and 2.5 games behind the Rockies for the first NL Wildcard spot. San Francisco hopes to play spoiler the remainder of the season.

Milwaukee enters this series red-hot after winning 6 of their last 7 games and taking 2 of 3 from the Rockies. The Brewers have averaged 5.86 RPG in their last seven games. Milwaukee has gone (29–30) on the road and they have averaged 4.49 RPG and have allowed just 4.37 RPG in those games.

Taking the hill for the Brewers in this one will be Zach Davies and he has gone 14–6 with a 4.26 ERA in 25 starts on the year, including 2–1 with a 3.26 ERA in his last three starts and 7–0 with a 2.52 ERA in 12 starts on the road.

San Francisco will not be playing postseason baseball this season but they will play spoiler the remainder of the season. The Giants have been a very poor offensive team so far as they come in ranked 28th in the league in scoring, putting up just 4.07 RPG, while also ranking 21st in hitting at .248 and 30th in homers with 99.

Chris Stratton will get the start for the Giants and he has gone 1–2 with a 4.91 ERA in six games overall, including 1–1 with a 3.44 ERA in three games as a starter.

Zach Davies has been very solid for the Brewers this year, especially on the road where he has gone 7–0 with a 2.52 ERA thus far and he will be taking on a Giants’ squad that is still one of the worst offensive teams in the league. The Giants had a brief offensive explosion vs the Phillies but I wouldn’t put much stock into their offense coming alive vs Davies. I like the Brewers at this price with one of their top pitchers on the mound. Take the Brewers in Game 1 on Monday night.
