New York Knicks vs Orlando Magic Free NBA Pick, 3–6–2017
The New York Knicks hung tough with the Golden State Warriors on Sunday but came up short in a losing effort 112–105. This is rapidly turning into a lost season for the Knicks, who are now 13 games below .500 as they hit the road to take on the Magic. Orlando also came up short in their Sunday showdown vs the Wizards, losing 115–114.
The Knicks loss on Sunday now places them five games behind the Pistons for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks are 13th in the league in scoring as they average 105.7 points per game. New York is 4th in the league in rebounding with 45.9 boards per contest while standing 20th with 21.6 assists per game. The Knicks are 25th in scoring defense as they allow 108.7 points per game.
One of the biggest problems the Magic have had this season is the lack of offense. Currently the Magic are 29th in the league with 99.7 points per game while allowing 105.7 points a game. Evan Fournier leads five Orlando players in double digits with 16.6 points per game. The Magic are 17 games below .500 overall and trail Detroit by 7.5 games for the final playoff spot in the East. Orlando has dropped 7 of their last 10 games.
This is basically a toss up game between two losing teams coming off a back-to-back. The Knicks are (2–1) this season vs the Magic but Orlando won at home by 12 the last meeting at home. I’m taking the Magic at home in this matchup. I don’t see the Knicks having too much in the tank after a home loss to the Warriors.
