The Sooners are coming in off back-to-back wins over BYU and Oklahoma State. The Sooners average 77 PPG while allowing 66 PPG led by Javian McCollum who scores 14.2 PPG. Oklahoma has a 47.4% field goal percentage and displayed their ability to score efficiently while defensively they average 37 rebounds and 6.6 steals every contest. While the Sooners can score they are built for a low-scoring game built on efficiency.

Baylor battled but ended up falling short on the road at #4 Kansas losing to the Jayhawks on Saturday 64–61 to snap their three-game win streak. The Bears enter Tuesday’s contest 20th in the country in scoring offense as they pile up 82.7 points per game while allowing 70.6 PPG. Ja’Kobe Walter is one of five Baylor players in double figures with 14.3 points per game followed by RayJ Dennis who averages 13.3 points per game. Baylor is a fantastic 3-point shooting team averaging 39.8% which ranks them 4th in the country. On the flip side, Oklahoma has been fantastic defending the arc allowing just 27.9%.

Given both teams’ respective strengths and weaknesses, this game should be fiercely contested. McCollum vs. Walter will likely play an essential role while Baylor may benefit from superior scoring and home-court advantage to give them an edge in this matchup. How will Baylor create open shots and will they be able to knock down 3-pointers or will the Sooners clamp down from beyond the arc? Both teams are sound offensively, though you would have to give an edge to Baylor in that regard. Oklahoma has the better defensive presence so this one could come down to intangibles. The Bears are an excellent perimeter shooting team and they have no shortage of weapons on the offensive end of the floor. They should be able to take advantage of an Oklahoma team that is kind of light when it comes to reliable scoring options outside of Javian McCollum. Baylor has played well at home with a sparkling 12–1 record which gives them a sound home-court advantage. I like the Bears to pull away late and cover the -7-point spread at home.
