76ers Betting Preview

The Philadelphia 76ers are simply not the same team without reigning MVP Joel Embiid. The Sixers are just 3–7 SU and ATS in their last 10 games. Philadelphia got blasted by the Bucks on Sunday losing 119–98. The 76ers shot just 37.1% from the field and 34.8% from beyond the arc. The 76ers struggled defensively as they allowed the Bucks to shoot 54.4% from the field and 48.6% from three. They will need to play much better defense against a very good shooting team in Boston which is also very efficient. Although the Sixers are defending the perimeter well, they are now 20th in rim defense. They allow the 24th-highest percentage of field goals to come within five feet of the hoop and also rank 25th in defensive rebounding percentage. These are very concerning stats entering Tuesday night’s matchup.

Celtics Betting Preview

The Boston Celtics are riding an 8-game winning streak and are 13–2 SU in their last 15 games. Boston took down the New York Knicks as -6 point favorites, 116–102 behind another great performance from their starting five with Jaylen Brown leading the way with 30 points. The Celtics are averaging 120.7 points on 48.4 percent shooting and allowing 110.4 points on 44.9 percent shooting. Jayson Tatum is averaging 26.9 points and 8.5 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown is averaging 22.1 points and 5.5 rebounds. Boston has also been a top defensive team as they are giving up just 110.4 PPG and are second in the NBA in blocks per game. Overall, the Celtics are first in the NBA in offensive rating and third in defensive rating.

This -12.5 point spread may seem like a lot but the Celtics are the best team in the NBA and they are playing like it with one of the best starting lineups in the NBA. Shorthanded, the 76ers team doesn’t stand a chance against the Celtics in Boston. While Philadelphia still has offensive weapons in the lineup, they do not have enough to contend with this Celtics team. Philadelphia has played poor defense without Embiid and they are having difficulties rebounding giving their opposition second-chance points. This doesn’t bode well when you play the Celtics.
