The NFL season has arrived! ATS Experts wanted to kick off the 2016 season with a free Seahawks vs Chiefs betting prediction. The Seahawks went 10–6 last season, and the Chiefs had a great season in 2015, posting an 11–5 record.
The Seahawks will enter the post Marshawn Lynch era but he may not be missed as much as some may think. Thomas Rawls looked outstanding last season, rushing four over 100 yards in four of his seven starts, and is primed for a breakout season. Former 2014 first round pick Paul Richardson has turned heads at camp giving the Seahawks a new weapon for Russell Wilson to help supplement Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett.
The Seahawks defense will be stout as usual. Richard Sherman and Kam Chacellor anchor the secondary and are the heart and soul of the secondary. If the Seahawks make another post season run it will be because of their defense. The Seattle defense had another dominating season in 2015, conceding an NFL low 17.3 points per game.
The Kansas City Chiefs kick off their preseason with big expectations for 2016. The Chiefs are deep defensively and have a good ground attack on offense with Jamaal Charles leading the way. Don’t expect Alex Smith to see much time in the first pre-season game, back up QB’s Aaron Murray and Tyler Bray will likely see a lot of playing time in this one as they compete for the backup QB role.
Last year the Chiefs went a perfect 4–0 in preseason action, winning their preseason opener by a 34–19 score over the Arizona Cardinals. The Kansas City offense averaged a solid 25.3 points per game, good for ninth in the NFL. The Chiefs defense was outstanding last year, holding opponents to 17.3 points per game, good for third overall.
The second half of this game should be very interesting considering the backup quarterbacks for both teams are college stars who haven’t done anything at the NFL level. Players will be eager to prove themselves. I trust KC a little bit more due to the competition which increases the level of play overall.
