Syracuse and Georgia Tech weren’t expected to be contending teams this season but they have both had winning seasons playing in one of the toughest conferences in college basketball, the ACC. Both teams may need to go on runs or perhaps win the ACC Tournament to get a bid in the NCAA Tournament.

It’s been a seesaw for the Syracuse basketball team this season. Non-conference losses to South Carolina, Wisconsin, Connecticut, and Georgetown are fairly respectable. However, they were also run out of their own gym by St. John’s, 93–60. ‘Cuse started 8–4 in ACC play and even put together a five-game winning streak that included upsets of then top-ten ranked teams FSU and Virginia, but have since lost two straight.

Syracuse relies heavily on Andrew White III, who has scored at least 20 points in each of the past 7 games. White III is averaging just shy of 18 PPG and 4.7 RPG. As a team, Syracuse is scoring 76.5 points per game and allowing 70.3 points per game.

Despite a (15–11) record the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have played .500 ball the last 14 games (7–7). During this span the Yellow Jackets have wins over Florida State and Notre Dame but they have not been able to keep momentum. Josh Okogie leads the team with an average of 15.4 points per game, while Ben Lammers leads the team with 9.4 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game and Justin Moore leads the team in assists with 3.1 dimes per game this season.

Both teams haven’t given up hope on an NCAA Tournament berth despite being on the outside looking in. This will be a scrappy game and should be evenly matched. The Yellow Jackets are (13–3 SU) on their home court and they have also covered 4 straight games vs Syracuse. I like the points at home in this matchup.

Syracuse vs Georgia Tech Pick: Georgia Tech +1.5
