Tonight’s matchup features two teams that are heading in opposite directions: the Texas Rangers have lost 7 of their last 10 games travel to Seattle to take on the Mariners, winners of 6 of the last 10 games. Both teams are struggling to keep up with the Houston Astros in the AL West as the Rangers are looking up from the bottom of the division behind by 7.0 games while the Mariners are in 3rd place behind by 6.0 games.
Texas has been struggling at the plate and on the mound, a bad combination for a baseball team that has postseason aspirations. A big concern for the Rangers is they are just 2–15 this season when allowing more than three runs. Nelson Cruz leads Seattle with 34 hits and 27 RBI while Robinson Cano and Mitch Haniger have combined for 57 hits and 37 RBI.
Seattle is hitting .251 as a team which ranks them 12th in MLB. Taking the mound for the Mariners tonight is Yovani Gallardo who is (1–3) with a 5.08 ERA and 23 strikeouts this season. Gallardo is 0–1 with a 6.00 ERA and 12 strikeouts in his career against the Rangers.

I think Darvish can silence the Mariners bats in this one which is why I like this game to go Under 8.5 runs.
