How to Activate 2-factor Authentication on Discord
Two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security to protect your account on websites/applications. Instead of only entering a password to log in, you’ll also enter a code or use a security key. This additional step helps make sure that only you can access your account and prevent someone else from getting into your account.
Because your password is no longer enough to secure your account, we recommend you to use MYOTPS. And these are the steps of how to integrate your Discord account with MYOTPS:
- Log in to Discord by entering your email address and password
2. Go to settings in your account by clicking on the icon below
3. After getting on my account page, click on Enable Two-Factor Auth
4. Integrate Two-Factor Auth using MYOTPS either with scan QR Code or input Secret Key
5. You can choose to integrate either by scan QR code or Secret Keys
6. If you choose to scan the QR Code, please scan QR Code that appears on Discord to activate two-way authenticator
7. If you choose to input the Secret Key, please input the application/website name, your account name and Secret Key that appears on Discord
8. After you finish scan QR code or input Secret Keys, MYOTPS will generate 6-digit verification code
9. Back to Discord, enter your 6-digit verification code from MYOTPS, and click Activate to proceed
10. Yay! You have successfully integrated 2-Step verification with MYOTPS don’t forget to copy your backup codes by clicking Download Backup Codes on Discord, stay secure by using MYOTPS in all website/application that you use
11. Remember to backup your token in MYOTPS in case your device is lost or stolen.
