How to Activate 2-Factor Authentication on Firefox

Two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security to protect your account on websites/applications. Instead of only entering a password to log in, you’ll also enter a code or use a security key. This additional step helps make sure that only you can access your account and prevent someone else from getting into your account.

Because your password is no longer enough to secure your account, we recommend you to use MYOTPS. And these are the steps of how to integrate your Firefox account with MYOTPS:

1. Login on your Firefox account by entering your email address and password

2. Click on Options to open your account

3. Click on Sync to open your Firefox accounts

4. Click Manage account to find two-step authentication

5. Click Enable Two-step authentication to begin the integration

6. Integrate Two-Factor Auth using MYOTPS either with scan QR Code or input Secret Key

If you can’t scan the QR code, click Can’t scan code? to show Secret Keys

If you can’t input the Secret Key, go back and retry QR code

7. Open MYOTPS you can choose to scan QR code or Secret Keys to integrate

8. If you choose to scan the QR Code, please scan QR Code that appears on Firefox to activate two-way authenticator

9. If you choose to input the Secret Keys, please input the application/website name, your account name and Secret Keys that appear on Firefox

10. After you finish scan QR code or input Secret Keys, MYOTPS will generate 6-digit verification code

11. Input the 6-digit verification code and click Ready. Yay! You have successfully integrated 2-Step verification with MYOTPS. use MYOTPS in all your website/application to stay secure

12. Remember to backup your token in MYOTPS in case your device is lost or stolen.
