The Phillip Marshall Murder-Suicide Case And The Many Unanswered Questions

February 4th, 2013, was the date. And it should have been like any other date for the Marshalls. Author Phillip Marshall was home with his two children, Alex and Macaila Marshall. Instead, it was a day that left one neighborhood and community in Calaveras County, California, saddened, stunned, and confused.

In a gated golf course community known as Forest Meadows, in one of the region’s most exclusive neighborhoods, and in the home of a career pilot turned successful author, police reported that deputies found Phillip Marshall dead in a pool of blood inside the front door.

Police allege that Marshall, 54, was dead by his hand as the result of a handgun round to the head. Alex Marshall, 17, and Macaila Marshall, age 14, were dead on a couch. All were shot in the head, and even the family dog was shot to death and found in a bedroom. Who was Phillip Marshall, and why would there be questions about his death?
