Alan W Wilmer Sr has been named in connection with the 1980s deaths, and many people now wonder if it will also solve a notorious string of other slayings.

Virginia State Police have named a suspect in three murders that had been cold since the 1980s, and investigators are now looking into the possibility that he also committed other crimes.

At a press conference, Alan W. Wilmer Sr. of Lancaster County was revealed as the person suspected of killing David L. Knobling, 20, and Robin M. Edwards, 14, in 1987, as well as 29-year-old Teresa Lynn Howell in 1989.

“If not for Wilmer’s death, charges would be filed against him in connection with the three homicides,” commented police spokesperson Corinne Geller.

David and Robin were last seen alive on September 19th 1987, when Robin went on a date with David’s younger cousin to a video arcade. Afterwards, she accepted a ride home from David, but the pair apparently made arrangements to meet up again later the same evening, with Robin sneaking out of the house to do so.

David’s pick-up truck was discovered abandoned the next day with the radio still playing, but it wasn’t until four days later that David and Robin’s bodies were found on the shoreline of the James River…
