One week ago, we witnessed the historic Trump-Kim summit taking place right here in Singapore. Whether the meeting would end in world peace is still a work in progress.

And then two days after the event, the world cup started. Die hard soccer fans might be at war with each other as they advocate for their favourite teams.

So much talk about peace and war! But whether the world is at peace or not, you have to make sure you are at peace.

When you think of attaining inner peace, the first thing you might think of is meditating. At least, that’s the first thing that comes to my mind. But if you’re like me and you equate peace with mediation, let me tell you that we are so wrong!

There are many things that you can do to get that warm flow of peace and tranquility in your system. It can be as simple as spending time with your family or trying something new everyday. Keep reading to find out what you can do! And beware, puns may be coming your way!

1. Make Your Own Peace of Jewellery

What better way to make peace than by making peace(es) of jewellery? Pun is very much intended! If you need some time off to keep your mind relaxed and in a state of calm, you can spend that time making something that is both useful and valuable.

Under the guidance of Elaine Tan, founder of Resin Play, with close to 8 years of experience in working with resins, you can learn how to saw and finish your acrylic sheets and dome them with coloured pigments as shown above.

You can make up to 4 pieces of pendants or charms depending on their sizes, using a clear acrylic sheet.

Although working with resin may be challenging, taking the time to fully focus on doing up something that is meaningful, such as this resin jewellery, would erase away any troubles that you had felt.

To make your time at the workshop more significant, you can bring along a friend or loved one to join you in this jewellery making session.

Take note of the details below:

2. Bake Sweet Buns to Feast On

Whether you’re looking for savoury buns such as semolina crusted charcoal buns with Japanese potato and cheese filling or sweet buns such as matcha melon ban with Japanese Adzuki red bean filling, you can appease your taste buds with whichever flavour you’re in the mood for!

What does buns have anything to do with peace, you might ask. Well, just like with jewellery making, baking brings with it multiple benefits. One very important one is that the feel of the flour, the sound of the equipments you use and the smell of freshly baked bread all contribute in inducing you with feel-good endorphins.

And as with making jewellery, you will be fully engaged in creating the perfect set of sweet or savoury buns that negative thoughts would not likely occupy your mind.
