Welcome to the world of Crrux hives — fresh way to work and engage on web
Many have lived through the evolution of web and software but many more are just getting introduced to it. Best part is both want to do more with less.
Clutter of multiple software tools is not counter productive for humans but also threatens creation of artificial nonsense instead of intelligence. BOTs will be better educated with seamless systems with no data redundancy and intelligent data models.
We all need to use the power of web to publish and collaborate appropriately for our personal, community and business needs.
- As an individual you may need to have a website and blog to engage with people globally around your interests.
- As a community, it is essential to engage and collaborate with the stakeholders and tap into the collective.
- As an organization (business, govt, NGOs) you need to manage your work across sales, support and projects. You also need to promote your products or services and engage with your customers, partners and employees.
You can now power any of the above use cases by setting up a Crrux hive.
What is a Crrux hive and how to setup and use it?
A Crrux hive is a seamless system for your productivity, collaboration and engagement needs.
Each hive has a unique web address like yourdomain.crrux.com, you may choose an appropriate domain name that identifies you e.g. yourName.crrux.com, yourTeamName.crrux.com, yourCommunityName.crrux.com or yourOrganizationName.crrux.com, all other settings that helps you configure your hive can be changed from the Hive Settings page by admin users.
Any hive can be used securely by its:
- Registered users i.e. your internal teams, these users sign up to your hive with an invite sent on email to them, by default all registered users of a hive with admin privilege can invite other users by giving their email ids. It can be further restricted by admin users from Hive Settings page.
- Non registered users i.e. public or guest visitors to your hive site, who can interact with the various public content displayed on your hive through the blog, help center and catalog pages or access the various items securely shared(email OTP based access) with them.
Each hive has two states pre sign in and post sign in. A hive displays differently in both these states.
Pre sign in state of the hive
When a visitor/user comes to your hive site and they are not signed in they can only see all the public pages that you have activated like home, blog, help and under these pages they only see the items (offerings, articles and conversations) that are shared as public.
Post sign in state of the hive
When a user signs in to your hive, they see the post signed in secure view of your hive, with all relevant app pages i.e. home, projects, sales, help etc. accessible to them and related productivity apps. They only see the items shared with them or marked as protected (visible to all registered/internal users of the hive).

All your critical internal work and collaboration can be managed through these four apps. The ‘Add to Crrux’ bookmarklet is the tool for sharing and organizing content from the web. There are many articles and posts on the web that you might want to save or share with fellow hive users or reference in your research work. The bookmarklet tool lets you clip parts of web pages and publish it to your hive just like any other item. Know more about the bookmarklet here.
The Google custom search engine (CSE) is a powerful integration that Crrux offers to help you keep track of most relevant content on the web around your interests like technology trends, industry news, customers, competition. Based on your collections and the specified other names, Crrux delivers a set of relevant content daily from a custom set of defined websites and URLs as specified in your private Google CSE setup. Eliminate the multiple alerts, subscriptions and RSS feeds by simply integrating Google CSE with your hive. Know more about step-by-step integration here.
Secure collaboration with external partners and community
Crrux serves your internal collaboration and engagement needs but a business often requires external collaboration with partners, clients and with the community in general.
Through your Crrux hive you can give specific access to a particular item i.e. if you want to share a work-in-progress document/task with your client and take their opinion on it, you may share only the required document with them.
They will receive an email with a link to the item and access it on their own devices with a simple but secure OTP sign in to your hive as a guest user. You can even discuss the work by replying to the item, thus fulfilling all your collaboration needs.
Public pages to engage anonymous visitors
Your hive can also be used as a website by enabling public pages which can be accessed by everyone irrespective of whether they are registered to your hive or not. The home page is enabled and visible to the public by default, whereas the catalog, blog, help center and about pages can be enabled for the public, if required.
The home page is the face of your hive telling about your business, community or personal hive, it also gives a summary of your blog and catalog pages. Visitors to your hive can view your catalog offerings and make a purchase easily. The blog page lets you communicate through articles and lets your readers to comment, follow or share your posts. The help center page is an amalgamation of support articles for self service and an interactive community section for visitors to engage with each other. The about page gives a dedicated space to introduce your team to your hive visitors and also displays contact details and location to your organization.
Publish and collaborate right from your mailbox
Posting from your mailbox to Crrux makes sure that all your work is seamlessly linked. Your hive is linked to your registered email address and any item that you post or reply to by email is posted as the relevant item/reply in your hive.
- You can post any item by sending an email to relevant email address like article@yourdomain.crrux.com, task@yourdomain.crrux.com
- Crrux sends you an email alert if any relevant item is created, updated or replied to. If you reply to any such email, then your reply is automatically posted as a reply to that item in Crrux
