2022 was a year of surprises — who knew one day we will find out how star formation in our galaxy began and we will be able to snap an image of the Milky Way’s black hole!

There were a few surprises in the Oracle HCM Cloud space too!

Here is a quick look at some of the key features that Oracle has delivered in the Talent Management area that you may find useful.

Best Careers & Successors

As part of the Career Development enhancement, AI driven recommendations are now presented to employees and managers on the Explore Careers page. These best fit recommendations are driven by employees’ Talent profile data and job model profiles.

Similar AI based recommendations are also available to HR Specialists and Managers to add candidates to the Succession plan based on their role compatibility and recommendation strength.

Succession Organisation Chart

Oracle has recently released the Succession Organisation chart feature that has further enhanced Succession Planning. As a HR specialist, you can now search the Succession plan information for an employee which is then represented in a detailed Organisation chart format. The chart includes:

  • Directs: shows employees who directly report to the selected person and indicates who has succession plans and who doesn’t
  • All Reports with Plans: shows both direct and indirect reports of the selected person who has succession plans
  • Succession plans: shows the succession plans in which the selected person is an incumbent or indirect incumbent
  • Candidate in Plans: shows the succession plans in which the selected person is a candidate

Guided Journeys

By configuring Guided Journeys in your HCM Cloud application, you can now guide your employees and managers on various Talent management processes. You can include process guidance notes, policies & procedures, intranet links in the form of Rich Text, Videos, Attachments, and Website links on various Talent Management pages. The Guide Me button is displayed on the page which users can use to refer to the guidance information.

Development Goals and Learning

You can now associate a Learning course to your Development Goals and track its progress from the Career Development area making it easier and seamless from the user experience perspective.

ALL in one Performance evaluations

ALL in one Performance evaluations feature greatly presents your managers with a summary view of their team’s performance documents on one page. It allows managers to comparatively evaluate multiple team members against the consistent standard criteria thus eliminating the need to navigate one by one.

Touchpoints

Oracle Touchpoints is a continuous listening and action channel. It promotes meaningful interactions between Employees and Managers to drive impactful conversations, build trust and foster growth. Although it is a separately sold product, it offers some great features in the Talent Management area, such as:

  • Quick pulse surveys to share thoughts & needs
  • Support employees and managers to maintain regular check-ins
  • Recognise employees by highlighting work events and providing timely feedback
  • Provide real-time insights into pulse score trends, interactions & completed surveys
  • Offers next-generation employee experience.

Dynamic Skills

The nature of work and careers is changing fast — and with it, skills are changing too. Organisations are increasingly finding it difficult to upskill and reskill their workforce and facing roadblocks to lay the foundation for a skills-based organisation.

Dynamics Skills is Oracle’s latest innovation to help business leaders to manage, detect and grow the skills in their talent pool.

Join Oracle’s product strategy leader, Yvette Cameron, as she shares an in-depth look at Oracle's Dynamic Skills.

Oracle HCM Cloud update 23A is already out and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

Looking forward to some more exciting announcements and surprises that Oracle may have in store for 2023!
