Welcome to the latest release of Oracle Talent Management — Release 24B!

This release is notably enriched with plenty of new Redwood features and enhancements.

From the comprehensive Redwood updates across numerous pages to the refined Performance Management tasks enhancements, the latest Oracle Cloud Talent Management release introduces a range of impactful improvements to drive success in the ever-evolving landscape of talent management.

Let’s explore the exciting updates!

Oracle Learning Cloud

➤ RELATED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The addition of the Related Skills and Qualifications feature brings a valuable enhancement to the platform. This feature allows users to associate specific skills and qualifications with learning content, providing a more comprehensive understanding of the competencies developed through each course or training module.

This enhancement not only facilitates more targeted learning experiences for users but also enables administrators to more effectively track skill development and competency attainment within their workforce.

You can now add skills or qualifications to courses and specializations that make the learning discoverable during browsing and searching, but that won’t update a learner’s talent profile after they complete the learning.

The Outcomes filter was renamed to Qualifications (refer to the below image) and includes courses and specializations configured with competencies, certifications, languages, or any other talent profile content type that isn’t a Skills Center skill.

➤ ENROLLMENT DETAILS COMPACT HEADER

The Enrollment Details Compact Header feature stands out as a significant improvement. This enhancement streamlines the user experience by presenting essential enrollment information in a concise and easily accessible format. With the compact header, users can swiftly grasp crucial details such as enrollment status, completion progress, and due dates without navigating through multiple screens.

Please remember that this feature is optional and requires users to enable it. Customers must take action before end users can utilize it.

➤ ASSIGN LEARNING TO DIRECT AND INDIRECT REPORTS

The ability to assign learning to both direct and indirect reports marks a significant advancement. This feature allows managers to allocate training courses not only to their direct subordinates but also to individuals further down the organizational hierarchy. With this enhancement, managers gain greater flexibility and efficiency in ensuring that relevant learning opportunities reach all levels of their teams.

By extending the reach of learning assignments to indirect reports, Oracle Learning Cloud further empowers organizations to foster a culture of continuous development and growth across their entire workforce.

➤ INSTRUCTOR AND CLASSROOM AVAILABILITY

The focus on Instructor and Classroom Availability brings a notable improvement to scheduling and resource management. This is now available in Redwood pages.

This feature allows administrators to easily manage and track the availability of instructors and classrooms, optimizing the allocation of resources for training sessions.

With enhanced visibility into instructor schedules and classroom availability, organizations can efficiently plan and schedule training sessions, ensuring that the right resources are allocated at the right time.

⚡ Goal Management

➤ REDWOOD — ROLE-BASED PERFORMANCE GOAL APPROVALS

When managers add or change any goals in the employee’s performance goal plan, they can now send them to their next-level manager for approval.

The next-level manager receives a notification when there’s a goal plan awaiting their approval. They can approve it, edit it, reject it, or request for more information.

To use this feature, you need to enable Redwood Goals Center by enabling the profile options: ORA_HCM_VBCS_PWA_ENABLED, ORA_HRA_PERFORMANCE_DOCUMENTS_AND_GOALS_REDWOOD_ENABLED, ORA_HRG_PERF_GOAL_ROLE_BASED_APPROVL.

The Performance Document, Check-in, and Goals Center features are closely connected. So, the Redwood version of these pages can all be enabled or disabled only using the common ORA_HRA_PERFORMANCE_DOCUMENTS_AND_GOALS_REDWOOD_ENABLED profile option. These features can’t be enabled individually.

⚡ Career Development

➤ REDWOOD — DEVELOPMENT GOALS LEARNING TASKS

Add learning tasks to your development goal to help achieve a goal. Run the Update Goals scheduled process to migrate any existing goal-level learning to learning tasks. You can search for learning provided by your company and add it as a learning task to your goal.

This feature helps you align learning with development goals, fostering a strategic approach to professional growth.

The button to add tasks isn’t enabled by default. Use Visual Builder Studio to show the Tasks button and to use tasks. When tasks are enabled, you can then enable or disable learning tasks.

⚡ Performance Management

➤ AUTO TRANSFER PERFORMANCE DOCUMENTS TO NEW MANAGERS FOR A SPECIFIC MANAGER TYPE

You can now restrict the auto transfer of performance documents to new performance document managers when an employee’s assignment manager changes, to a specific manager type.

You can select No transfer, Transfer for any manager type change, Line Manager, or your custom manager types.

This enhancement not only simplifies administrative burdens but also fosters smoother transitions for employees and managers alike, ultimately supporting a more effective talent management process within Oracle Cloud.

To enable this feature, you must enable the following profile option: ORA_HRA_AUTO_TRANSFER_PERF_DOCS.

➤ REDWOOD EXPERIENCE FOR MASS ACTION PROCESSES FOR PERFORMANCE DOCUMENTS ADMIN PAGE

Pleased to announce the availability of a concise one-page processes list within the Performance Management module. HR specialists can now leverage the Mass Action Processes for Performance Documents page.

This page lists all the mass action processes that an HR specialist can submit or preview and has been recreated in the Redwood toolset Visual Builder Studio (VB Studio) to provide an enriched user experience.

➤ COMPETENCIES AND DYNAMIC SKILLS AS CHECK-IN DISCUSSION TOPICS

You can now take advantage of competencies and dynamic skills (from the Skills Center) as discussion topics in performance or Touchpoints check-in documents.

Competencies: As an employee, manager, or HR you can add active competencies from the employee’s profile as discussion topics if it’s enabled in the check-in template.

Users can now enjoy the enhanced Redwood experience for Talent Review. This upgrade brings a more streamlined and intuitive interface to the Talent Review process, improving user experience and efficiency.

With the Redwood experience, users can expect enhanced visualization, easier navigation, and more robust functionality, empowering organizations to conduct comprehensive talent reviews with greater ease and effectiveness. This enhancement underscores Oracle’s commitment to continuously improving its talent management solutions to meet the evolving needs of modern organizations.

⚡ Succession Management

➤ REDWOOD — SUCCESSION ORGANIZATION CHART ENHANCEMENTS

In the Succession Organization Chart, you can now navigate to the Redwood version of the Create Succession Plan and Add to Succession Plan pages, making a consistent user experience with other Redwood pages and flows. To view this page, go to My Client Groups > Succession Plans and click View Succession Organization Chart or go to My Team > Quick Actions > Succession Organization Chart.

These enhancements offer users a more intuitive and visually engaging experience, facilitating better navigation and understanding of succession planning within organizations.

If either Best-Fit or Suggested Successor is enabled, you can now use these features when you drill down to the plan details page from the Succession Plans or Candidate in Plans tabs in the succession organization chart.

⚡ Talent Management

➤ MANAGER TALENT OVERVIEW PAGES REPLACED WITH TEAM ACTIVITY CENTER

Managers can now take advantage of the inclusion of Talent Management in the new Redwood Team Activity Center, the new My Team page for managers. This consolidated page replaces the Career Overview and Goals & Performance Overview pages as well as the My Team page.

Managers My Team Page

Refer to the Redwood Experience for My Team What’s New for the steps to enable this page. The Goals and Performance Overview and Career Overview applications must be manually removed by enabling a sandbox and using the Structure tool to edit Navigation Configuration.
