Veruscript Functional Nanomaterials is issuing a call for papers for a Special Issue on the subject of nanostructured materials for efficient thermal energy utilisation.

Guest Editor: Dr. Yongliang Li, University of Birmingham

Thermal energy plays a vital role in modern civilisation, both at a domestic level for heating and cooling, and at in industrial level for the conversion of fossil fuel and renewable sources into mechanical/electrical energy. In order to meet our climate and energy goals we must sharply reduce the energy we consume for thermal loads and also significantly improve the efficiency of thermal energy utilisation processes. Nanostructured materials have shown potential to enhance thermal energy efficiency across different branches of both domestic and industrial applications. Nowadays the challenges are the developments of functionalised nanostructured materials for specific applications, and also the integration of the promising nanostructured materials into technical innovations. Overcoming these challenges can significantly contribute to the development and realisation of efficient thermal energy utilisation technologies.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand the behaviours of nanostructured materials, which have potential applications on efficient thermal energy utilisation. Particularly, we are interested in articles describing chemical and physical mechanisms under different conditions/processes and how these behaviours can improve the efficiency of different applications.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Nanostructured materials for efficient heat transfer and thermal energy conversion
  • Nanostructured materials for efficient thermal energy storage
  • Nanostructured materials for efficient sorption/separation process
  • Nanostructured materials for efficient thermal insulation
  • Nanostructured materials for thermal surface coating

Please submit relevant articles through Veruscript Functional Nanomaterials submission site. Any enquiries can be emailed to editorial@veruscript.com.

All Article Processing Charges (APCs) have been waived for this special issue.
