KARMA FOOTPRINT : Pop/Up Shop/Up — Shopping For Tostan
KARMA FOOTPRINT : £2,352 / $4,000 for Tostan
WHO : VERVE & Tostan
WHAT : A one-day Pop/Up shop of donated designer and high-street clothing & accessories.
WHEN : MARCH 2015
WHY : To raise money for Tostan’s Community Empowerment Program (“CEP”).
We were astounded by the generosity of those that donated — we had Chanel, Givenchy, Jimmy Choo, Chloe, Prada, Gucci… The day of the PUSU, over 80 women came out, drank wine, spread cheer, and opened their wallets. Sue Dray sat behind her art easel all day and hand-painted personalized illustrations on tote bags for the shoppers.
We had an amazing afternoon filled with laughter playing dress up with our friends — and at the end — this incredible group of women had raised roughly $4,000. That money allowed 20 women to participate in Tostan’s CEP program in Africa for an entire year where they would learn sustainable development skills to better their future and keep their future.
One drop of kindness into the ocean creates a tsunami on the other side of the world. A million thank you’s to all the ladies that participated in making that day incredible!
