Vesper: A Platform for Easy-to-Use DeFi Products
Today, we are introducing Vesper, a platform for DeFi products intended to strike the ideal balance between professionalism and community dynamism.
We are delivering more details today at CoinDesk:Invest at 3:15pm ET. For those who could not attend the conference, read on below.
What Is Vesper?
Vesper’s system of DeFi products delivers ease-of-use in achieving your crypto-finance objectives. It is powered by the Vesper token (VSP, more below), which provides the core economic engine that facilitates the building and expansion of Vesper’s capabilities and its community.
The first products within the Vesper ecosystem are what we call “Holding Pools.” It’s really very simple: select the asset and the pool that meets your objectives — Vesper takes care of the rest.
Put another way: once deposited, your assets are pooled and automatically deployed to other DeFi protocols based on your desired strategy and risk tolerance. The objective is to earn interest in your chosen asset: Deposit ETH, earn ETH interest. Deposit WBTC, earn WBTC interest.
Compared to how yield farming is conventionally done, this reduces a dozen steps to less than a handful. You save time and, of course, money that would otherwise be lost to transaction fees.
Whether you’re a HODL’er whose crypto-holdings have remained on the DeFi sidelines, or an experienced yield-farmer who wants to park your current gains, Vesper provides set-and-forget automation.
In mid-November, we’re launching pools for ETH, WBTC, and USDC. More pools and strategies will be added over time. The code has been audited by two independent auditors.
The Vesper Token
Along the way, Vesper users are rewarded with VSP tokens, which form the core of Vesper’s long term sustainability model, including governance, participation, and incentives.
You earn VSP by:
- Staking in the vVSP governance pool
- Participating in Holding Pools
- Providing liquidity to certain VSP trading pairs
Additionally, developers who create strategies adopted by the Vesper community earn rewards. More to be detailed later on.
