We hope you had a great weekend, and a great September! That’s right — it’s officially October, and officially the third quarter of the year. Have your practice start the quarter off right by making inventory and purchasing a priority. Our weekly roundup includes updates from the team, friendly reminders, industry news, and opportunities to learn more about Vetcove’s useful features.
One change we’ve made this week is a major update for our analytics features, including your combined order history. If you’ve been using this feature to keep track of your purchasing across distributors, manufacturers, and items, you now have a much more user-friendly interface to work with! We have many more additions coming soon to these features, so stay tuned!
Weekly Roundup News Highlights
- Researchers at UC Davis have been exploring new ways to prevent postoperative complications (think incisional infections) following equine colic surgery. You can read about their successes with various types of stent bandages here.
- With the recent celebration of World Rabies Day, a study funded by Morris Animal Foundation explored the protective effects of the rabies vaccine against all-cause mortality in dogs.
- With the end of National Disaster Preparedness Month, we remember all those affected by the recent natural disasters. You can read an update from DVM360 here, and learn how to get help or give help through AVMA’s Disaster Aid page here.
- The water contamination in Flint, Michigan may lead to lead toxicosis in pets. Testing for lead toxicosis in pets is uncommon, and lead exposure may cause neurologic and gastrointestinal symptoms that can be misdiagnosed. Find more information here.
