Delighting Your Students with Micro-Interaction

Websites are the gateway to a great user experience. An easily accessible design goes a long way in procuring for your RTO a large student pool, eager to learn what you have to offer. Drilling in deep to design, one of the most effective, but often overlooked, user experiences is micro-interaction.

These interactions, like the name suggests, happen between larger interactions. They can be things like scrolling through a page, turning a knob, or clicking an “Enrol Now” button, bringing life into a website. These interactions create living experiences which delight users and make them more likely to favour your training over other competing RTOs.

Consider an enrol button. It could easily be a stationary image with no animation. And sure, it would get the job done. But below is an enrolment button which interacts with the mouse in a way that makes the experience feel enjoyable:

This small touch affirms that your business cares about the potential learner, considering even the smallest details to create a delightful experience. Once you have identified which parts of your website could create an in-depth experience, consider which kind of feeling you wish to evoke with the interactions.
