The island of Zakynthos was the second stop on our itinerary through Greece. It was after our visit to the island of Kefalonia, so our standards were already high… But this island far exceeded our expectations. Because of that, we present you the Best Beaches of Zakynthos!
1 — Shipwreck Beach
Easily among the most beautiful beaches in the world….

Shipwreck Beach, also known as Navagio Beach, is the best known beach on Zakynthos Island. It’s easy to understand why: apart from the water of a bright blue, it is surrounded by cliffs and is only accessible by sea…
Oh!
And have we mentioned that you have the wreckage of a shipwreck?
2 — Cameo Island
Shipwreck Beach is a unique beach but it was not the only unique one we found in Zakynthos…
Confusing?
How about relaxing a bit on a small beach on a private island?
Cameo Island is a private island in the south of the island. To access it, you have to pass through a small wooden bridge over the water.
The entrance fee is 5 euros for the whole day and you are entitled to a free drink in the island bar.
The beach is small, but very, very beautiful, and there are even those who decide to tie the knot there…
3 —Porto Limnionas
Located on the west side of the island, this beach is a small inlet of clear and calm waters.
Here you can put on your snorkeling mask and admire the sea life.
The area has a great restaurant where we have dinner watching the sunset. Besides, it is close to another “beach” with similar characteristics: Porto Roxas.
4 — Xigia Beach
Due to the existence of thermal springs, this beach has waters with whitish tones. Besides being one of the best beaches in Zakynthos, its waters have medicinal properties.
There is a catch though: there is an intense smell of sulfur in Xigia Beach…
We passed it by on our tour around the island of Zakynthos by boat (one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had). But we couldn’t resist and returned there for a few hours.
After leaving Xigia Beach, we headed to the next beach on the list, before heading to Zakynthos airport and catching our flight to Athens.
5 — Porto Zoro Beach
Well… We have reached the last point of our list of the Best Beaches in Zakynthos.
It was hard to build this list, since Zakynthos is full of fantastic beaches…
So don’t expect Porto Zoro Beach will disappoint you because it’s the last one!
After leaving Xigia Beach, we headed south. We were going to deliver our car at the end of that day, before our flight to Athens. But there was still time to get to know one more beach… So we picked Porto Zoro Beach!
And apparently we chose well!
And…
We were almost invited to a wedding!

Visit Zakynthos in Greece!
It is an island full of magnificent and unique beaches. It’s well worth it!
