👥 US Session #4 — Design Sprint with PICUS
➡️ For the first time, we are going to introduce Design Sprints. They are so trendy right now! 💁🏻
Design Sprints are a big thing when it comes to product development.
The Design Sprint, an invention of Google Ventures’ design team, is a 5-phase exercises intended to improve the chances of making something people want. Sprints are useful starting points when kicking off a new product or workflow, as well as when solving problems with an existing product.
It’s proved that they shorten the time it takes to develop an idea and have excellent benefits.
Additionally, this speeds up your project as now you won’t need to stop your work every time you do user testing, and they give you negative feedback. You have a clear path ahead of you, and you can move forward without interruptions!
🗣 Talk #14 — Viana Blockchain Conf
This is the second time, we will bring Blockchain to our Meetups! The first one was success, so we decided to create something bigger this time — small conference!
The neutralization or elimination of business inhibitors is one of the main characteristics of Blockchain technology whose impact can translate into an increase in trust and transparency with a high potential for reconfiguration of many business models and industries.
Usually more associated with the recent crypto-coin phenomenon, Blockchain technology is, however, much more than that. In fact, in addition to financial services, the technology that creates permanent and transparent transactions records contributes to the elimination of intermediaries opening up an unimaginable new world of applications.
In a context of digital transformation, Blockchain technology will certainly play a central role in the inescapable themes of the digital economy: security, privacy and effectiveness in interactions.

🗣 Talk #15 — Powering Paddypower Betfair
In this gathering, they will show the development process, architecture and technologies used the challenges of Paddypower Betfair.
At Blip , Bruno Sousa and João Oliveira are working on the software that’s behind both Paddypower and Betfair betting operators, which means millions of daily transactions, across hundreds of countries.
In this session, they will present the development process, architecture and technologies used to face such challenges.
More particularly, they will talk about Sportsbook Core Platforms, where they develop several backend services that provide all the applications with the fundamental operations that make Betfair business run!
