Viarium at «Sirius» digital republic.
Alexey Mashkeev, Viarium CEO, visited an education centre Sirius (Sochi) recently. He was there to test the opportunity of developing a VR school for children. The event focused on generation Z which is seen as digital future of Russia. And it’s not surprising: generation Z is very adaptive to VR technologies. In fact, representatives of generation Z are “digital people”. Here is why:
Generation Z (Gen Z, iGeneration, Post-Millennials) are people born after the mid-1990s. That’s the very time of the digital revolution. They use digital technologies from the very early age, their life is very digitized. They’re rational, curious, have interest in science. What their parents saw in films about “distant future” is a daily reality for them. They’re mobile and lead high-speed online life, which is always on a “switch on” mode thanks to mobile phones. So it’s only natural that Gen Z is also Generation VR.
Gamification is an important part of Sirius project (also called Digital Republic Sirius). Gamification tools are used in tasks and challenges of non-gaming nature. This education concept is called “E-Sirius”. The program includes the following steps:
The arrival of participants and registration in Sirius
Development of digital government with legislative and executive power branches
Development of economic and financial systems
Development of education system
Development of social services system
Recreation of citizen’s daily life
Setting up a common data exchange environment.
There is also “SIRIUS 2.0” — an alumni platform with social network managed by the Department of teenagers (VEB). This department acts as a working prototype of training and production company. The network develops and promotes intellectual products of Sirius graduates. Thanks to Vnesheconombank (VEB) support, participants get access to scholarships, internships and resources. Most successful participants have high chances of getting a job within innovation company.
